2019 Annual Chef's Challenge

Every year, Donovan's closes their doors for a few hours on a Saturday and holds an event called the "Chef's Challenge".  This has been a successful event for us to be able to utilize our staff’s creativity and talents to keep our menu items fresh and enticing. 


In the past, we have kept this event a private affair. Over the years we opened it up to our Cobbler Club members as we will again this year. We have 50 available seats* and participants must be at least 18 years of age. All of Donovan's owners, Chefs and some of our servers will also participate. To offset some of the cost and to also insure you have a vested interest, there is a nominal charge of $20 per person. You have to be quick, previous years have sold out in as little as 4 hours, but with the increased openings we should have more time, but don’t take a chance… sign up early!!!


Here are the details: Each Chef and each owner will make a recipe that is not currently on our menu. This means there will be over 15 dishes for you to sample. During the sampling, you will be scoring the recipes and giving comments on our score sheets. It's that simple! Oh, and if you are over 21, we will be sampling three cocktails as well.


Soda and tea are free and alcohol is available at normal charge. It is important, however, that if you sign up, you show up. There are only 50 seats available and we depend on the feedback from the recipes to determine our menu changes.
